090 – Day 20

Today, another fragment of a human skull appeared in ditch 7. These fragments of human skulls are scattered and mixed with faunal remains, pottery and stones. Here is the mandible recovered two days ago. It is from a child around 3 years old.


It is interesting to notice that the frontal fragment is also from a small skull and that the identifiable faunal bones that are in the same context are predominantly from young animals, as you can see from the bones displayed below.

Random or intentionality? One thing is clear, this section of the ditch was filled quickly and intentionally at this level with accumulations of selected materials, where human skull fragments were one of the present elements.
